Tarot Card Readiong

Because this card speaks of Beginnings and Endings, I call this card, New People, New Places and New Things. Some equate this card with the Death card because we all know that any new beginning means that something has ended. He will show up when there are closures needed in important area of the querant’s life.

Our traveler stands on the ledge ready to travel, ready for change. He carries a light sack on his shoulder, saying that he doesn’t need much to make the needed changes in his life. Or, maybe everything has been taken from him. The rose in his hand lets us know that he is trying to move into a more peaceful area of this life and has no intent to threaten anyone as he makes progress. His faithful dog, representing the subconscious, will not let him step off of any dangerous ledges or make any harmful decisions.

Notice that the card is drenched with yellow, the color of strength and energy. On this card the Sun is white, signaling that there is purity in his intent for the needed changes. He even has new growth on this clothing, telling us that this has been in the planning, his or someone else’s for some time now.

The Fool card says that changes are coming and there is little that anyone can do to stop them. What we do have control over is how we handle the changes. Mr. Fool is an adventure card, so if we turn our attitude to the positive side of the change things will be much easier to adjust to.

This is a person that often walks to a different drummer. He is ready to take on a different thought and way of doing things. There is no fear when he makes up his mind to do something. The trick is to not behave in a careless manner. Remember that the dog says he will protect the querant, but why make it a difficult job?

There is an air of risk, originality, and the unexpected with this card. Sometimes we do not welcome the changes. Look around to the other cards and see if there are relationship or business challenges. I have had this card show up for divorces, new relationship and career challenges.

The Fool appears when folks are reevaluating their spiritual or religious beliefs. See if the Heirophant or the Hermit card is present. If so, you know that this person is doing deep soul searching.

I always encourage the querant to go do something new, go someplace new or start a new hobby when this card appears. Maybe they need to reacquaint themselves with long lost friends or family members. Maybe they should revisit favorite old haunts.

Whatever it is or whatever they do, it will create a new sense of life for them. They will look at their lives in a different way, usually for the better.

In reverse: Whatever was expected is probably not going to happen. Or, it will not be as grand as the querant had hoped for.

They need to finish a goal, like getting a college degree or a piece of art started long ago. Are they writing a book? See if any of the craft cards are present. If so, encourage them to be brave and revisit the unfinished project.

Be careful not to risk wasting one’s energy on projects that are not beneficial to self, especially one that the querant is not likely to get some reward or recognition for.

This card will show up for the loose of a child, usually through abortion or in the early stages of pregnancy. If any of the medical cards are in reverse, it is good sign that there could be more difficulties with becoming pregnant. That is especially true if the Empress is in reverse in the layout.

Above all, be sure that actions are not taken out of a need for revenge or because of a need to cause someone pain. Remember what Karma is all about, it come back to the querant ten-fold.
