IX of Wands
We know that the number Nine is the completion and success number.
With that in mind, this card represents great power and success.
The figure looks battered and beaten. The struggle has been a
difficult one, but worth the effort. Now, he is standing to defend
himself, his actions and decisions.
He stands on gray ground. Gray is the color of wisdom, knowledge
and experience, so we know that he is prepared with special resolve
to do whatever is necessary to hold his place.
He holds one Wand to defend, remember that the number one is
the Root number, beginning of all things. It is appropriate because
the battle is one that he manifested. The other Eight (the number
of Infinity) stands behind him indicating that he can have this
success forever. He has all of the reserve strength and energy
that he could ever need to make that so. Now, as he starts another
phase of his life, there may still be some obstacles or delays
as he continues to grow. Not to worry, he will be just fine.
With the Devil card this card can indicate insanity. See if the
Two of Cups or the Strength card is in Reverse. If so, there is
the possibility that success is imagined. There may even be some
physical illness that he will have to handle before moving forward.
But, with great determination he will move forward.

In reverse: There
is no strength in reserve and health is weak. This person is struggling
mentally, maybe even having hallucinations or images of being
grandiose.
One the positive side, delays, obstacles or negative forces is
not in play in this situation.
